It’s now days away from the much-coveted elections day and I
think with all the propaganda sprawling around, I think it’s getting worse. It’s
crazy how supporters are so desperate/passionate about posting for their chosen
candidate for obvious reasons. I have my own reasons too on why I chose my
candidates, Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo as the next leaders on our nation.
It is discussed here on my last post on why I chose them.
but aside from the elimination process on choosing my vote, here are some
additions:
They stand for integrity – with the latest bank account
controversy now on the works, it’s important that a candidate must be
consistent and honest enough with the SALN declarations and statements. Mar and
Leni already sighed the waiver of having their bank accounts and transactions be
seen on broad daylight. They have also been open on their achievements, with Mar
doing their jobs on the national level and Leni serving the people in Naga. Their
honesty, integrity and heart in serving the people is outstanding.

They stand for decency - I had a chance to have this one-on-one debate on one of my online friends, and he’s obviously retaliating
my choice. FYI, my job requires me to be more analytical and factual on
everything-including my choice for this elections. I admit that it’s actually
drained me to the core, and it makes me realize how DISGUSTING these people
are.

| Tricia Robredo and Paolo Zaldarriaga Roxas (ewan ko, bagay sila :) pls don't take this comment seriously lels! pero fab pa rin. :) |
Another case is when I tend to joke on one of my blogger friends-only
to cuss at me on the certain libre joke. It makes me realize that - 1) he’s no
decent person at all, -2) I can’t
tolerate this kind of behavior and -3) I need friends who I can joke and
inspire me to do better. Yes people of FabPinas, This is my wake up call to
decency – that is something that I’ve seen on Mar and Leni. I applaud them for
their children are such an inspiration to many because of their decency and
moral stance. ps: Paolo Roxas is the boy-next-door type, pwede no? FAB!)
pss: That also means one thing – friendship over for me and this
blogger blagger.
They stand for acceptance – LGBTs are the ones who are
mostly discriminated, next to the people with disabilities. Both Mar Leni are
ok with the civil union with same sex couples and this means a lot for sure for
the LGBT couples. And with this, I’m sure that the anti-discrimination act that
is filed years ago will be tuned into law.
They stand for the people abroad – It is known that Mar
Roxas is an OFW too – he previously worked in a banking agency in New York
before he went back here in the country to run in the government office after
his brother died. He knows how it feels like working in a different country
just to earn a living. During his sortie along with Ms. Leni in Hong Kong, it
was seen that Mar is listening to the ofws’ woes (read Marites Palma's post here) just before their campaign started.
Contrary to the reports, it’s been a success.
He also has an agenda for all overseas workers, as stated here.

| Mar speaking to the muslim community |
They stand for unity – this means unity for everyone - men,
women, children, LGBTs, Christians and Muslims. We are living in a diverse
country and we need people that can unite people from different nations and
ethnicities.
They stand for service – Leni has been serving the people
even before she run for the government post. Mar on the other hand, has been
serving under 3 presidents for 20 years, creating laws that will benefit the
people nationwide, serving the people. I think this needs to be done on all
parts of the land with the help of the people from the local government.
I had a lot in mind on why I chose them over the rest of the
candidates, but these can do for now. I’m really hoping that people will see
what I am seeing in them.
Elections are only 9 days away. Do your earnest research,
and vote wisely.
